Wales Trip

Hey Lovelies,

So as I said in my last post, me & Tom went on a little mini break to Wales so I thought I’d share with you guys what we did.

We decided to go to Wales as this time next year we get married (eek!) and we couldnt afford a holiday abroad this year.

We stayed in a lovely little village called Aberdare which is situated near the Brecon Beacons and it was such a gorgeous place. We were literally in the middle of a valley so the scenery was stunning. We went down on the Monday morning and just spent the afternoon chilling out in the village & walking around as we didnt want to do to much.

On the Tuesday we took a trip down to Barry!1003072_10153164091420276_1626696508_n

We then got the train from here into Cardiff as it was easier than trying to find parking in the city centre. There wasnt really much to see in Cardiff, we just had a wander around the city centre and went to the Millenium Stadium & Cardiff Castlecastle castle2 MS

Once we’d had a walk around, we got back on the train to Barry to spend the afternoon on the beach in the sunshine.

Now both of us are massive Gavin & Stacey fans so we did spend a lot of the day quoting things from the series whilst I attempted a Welsh accent!
Barry Island is a lovely beach, it was so sandy & because the tide was so far out, you could walk really far down. I even paddled in the sea which was surprisingly warm!

On our final day (well our final exploring day) we went to two country parks in the valleys. The first one was Dare Valley country park which was situated in Aberdare and the second was Parc Bryn Bach. Dare Valley was gorgeous. Its in a valley and they have little walking routes that you can follow – red, blue, yellow & the 5k trail. We decided we’d follow the red then join onto the yellow. There was so much beautiful scenery that if I put all the photos in this post would be crazy! Once we completed the yellow, we finished the 5k trail which we started at point 2k. This sent us down a walkway and back up some ridiculous hill! I thought my legs were going to die

Parc Bryn Bach is in a village called Brynmawr which is at the top of a valley, so this was quite a flat country park (and anyone who has been to Priory Marnia in Bedford, this was exactly like that!) We walked the massive loop around the lake and then crashed on the river bank to sit infront of a group of ducks! Then we went to the refreshment and bought two twisted slush puppy drinks which if you follow me on instagram (missmills_) i posted a picture on there.

So that was our mini break to Wales! Apologises that its slightly more picture heavy than I planned it to be!

have you been anywhere nice recently?
