Northampton Blogger Meet

Hey Lovelies,

So on Sunday I went to my first ever blogger meet up in Northampton. It was organised by Mia (Pretty Eclectic) and Amber (Ambers Beauty Talk)

Having absolutely no idea how to get to the meeting place, I met up with the lovely Jemma from The Name Of Beauty & Jasmine from Jasmine Hearts beforehand and we headed to Revs where we were all meeting.

photo 1 (3)Most important thing first! It was after 12pm when this happened so the alcohol is fine! I had the Strawberry WooWoo, it was amazing! We all sat around, chatted for a bit and then Becky from Harlequin Cosmetics came in to chat to us about her products. She bought all her products with her that are all handmade and they were amazing! My favourites were definitely the Dolly Mixture shower gel which just smelt like melted sugar(!) and the California Daze Body Butter which I will definitely be purchasing soon

She also bought us little samples of Mint Chocolate soap & Coconut Soap which also smelt so good – my handbag still smells like them!

The girls – as well as preparing the most amazing goody bags (There will be a separate post on this as there was so much stuff!) also did a raffle for us all. I won a bottle of Anne De Jeunesse Liquid Gold which is a facial serum which you can also use as a hair treatment. I’ve already used it twice and I think I’m in love with it!

We then headed off to Pizza Express for some yummy food. When we got there we were surprised with not one but three goody bags chock full of amazing things. We also got the cutest cupcake which was made by Mia & Ambers family bakery! It was absolutely delicious

I have to admit I was a Pizza Express virgin until then but I wish I’d gone sooner! The food was so delicious. I had doughballs, Leggera Pollo Ad Astra & Chocolate cake.

Once we’d all eaten, we all went our separate ways to do a bit of shopping before heading to Lush for a party. However, this was the point that I had to leave because I had to get to work so I missed the Lush party. I did pop into Lush before I left and picked up another Brightside bubble bar – which I love & a Dragons Egg Bath Ballistic which I cannot wait to try. Apparently everyone got gift bags from Lush too so I can’t wait to pick mine up from Jemma and see what other goodies I have!

So there is what happened at the Blogger meet. There will be another post up in a couple of days about all the goodie bag bits & pieces!
And thanks again to Mia & Amber for organising such a brilliant meet! It was truly amazing.

All Used Up #1

Hey Lovelies

I’m back on the blog again! If you saw my last post, you will understand why I’ve been away but I’m all settled and ready to blog again.

Now I never collect enough over the month to do a monthly empties, so I’m going to start a new series called All Used Up. This will be posted whenever I have enough empties to warrant a blog post on them! (so probably every 2 months or so!)

So here is the first edition!

photo (2)

First up – the boring deodorant. This will always be in the empties. This is one of the compressed cans from Sure which is handy because I can just shove this in my handbag if I need to and it won’t take up too much room. Not really much else I can say about this. I don’t particularly like the scent  of it as its too powdery but a deodorant is a deodorant!

On to the skincare & hair care, which is basically the rest of the empties! There is the Organic Surge First Class Mask. I won this (maybe not this exact bottle) in a competition run by Miss Budget Beauty in conjunction with Organic Surge. I think I’ve promised you guys a review on this for months and never got there but once I repurchase this, there will be a full review. But I loved this mask, my face always felt so soft after using this.

Next is the Charles Worthington Salon At Home Moisture Seal Masque. I absolutely fell in love with the scent of this. It smells like a proper, really expensive salon masque but for a bargain price. You are supposed to use this a quick masque whilst in the shower, however I spread this all over my hair, massaging in as suggested and then wrapped my hair into a Primark hair turban and left the masque on for a couple of hours to really soak into my hair and hydrate it. This is a definite repurchase!

On top of that there is a small bottle of the Philosophy ‘When Hope Is Not Enough’ Serum. I bought this in the Boxing Day sales as part of a Philosophy gift set. The smell of this isn’t brilliant. I’m sure another beauty blogger said to me on Twitter that it smelt a little like sambuca! So once I’d learnt to ignore the smell, this product worked wonderfully on my skin. I didnt get any breakouts while using it. I used it as the last step in my evening skincare for a while and it left my skin glowing and soft in the morning. Not sure I would repurchase though as it is rather expensive.

Next up is another face mask – this time its the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask. Its a clay mask which feels warm when you put it on your face and cools down but never really sets the way most clay masks would. I used this in conjunction with the Organic Surge Mask because I only used this on my forehead, nose & chin. This is mainly because I have quite dry cheeks at the best of times and I thought this may dry them out even more. I can tell you now that I looked very attractive with a grey forehead, nose & chin and then bright white cheeks (there are no pictures so you’ll just have to trust me!) This is another repurchase however at the moment I’m using the Origins Clear Improvement Mask but there will be a review/comparison post coming up very soon!

And finally there are 3 body butters, all of which are sample sizes. There is The Body Shop Deluxe Chocolate Body Butter, Soap & Glory Butter Yourself & Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter – all of which I got in gift sets at Christmas. I adore the two Soap & Glory body butters. They left my skin feeling super hydrated and they smelled gorgeous so I’m hoping that Soap & Glory is on 3 for 2 at the weekend as I’m attending the Northampton Blogger Meet and I can guarantee that we will end up in there! I wasn’t overly enamoured with The Body Shop Deluxe Chocolate Butter. As much as I loved the smell, I felt the consistency was really strange compared to the other body butters I’ve used from The Body Shop. It was almost solid which I had to scrap out with my fingers and then it turned to an oil when II applied it on my skin. Not loving it!

So there you have my first All Used Up post. I hope you guys enjoyed reading about what products I’ve used.

What products have you used up recently?

Little life update

Hey lovelies

I thought I’d pop up a little post to explain why I’ve been absent from the blog for a bit.

First & foremost, me & Tom move house on Friday so we’ve spent the last 4 weeks packing up & taking things over to the new house & making a lot of trips to the tip! I promise once we are settled in there will be more posts!

Secondly, I’m still majorly snowed under at work due to a lack of staff and/or manager which is pants!

But the main reason for my absence is the fact that I discovered last week that my ex boyfriend commuted suicide. I’ve been pretty cut up about it, thinking about all the things I should or could have said but it’s too late. I’m still struggling to come to terms with it even though we had a lot more bad times than good (it’s a long story) but what makes it worse is that no one close to him will tell me anything which hurts the most.

I promise you guys that once I’m back up & running, the blog posts will be back in full flow.

I hope you guys understand my reason but I’ll be back soon

Loads of love & hugs

MAC/Origins/Lush Haul

Hey Lovelies,

Well as it was payday Friday (last Friday as you read this) I decided it was time to splash out on some new skincare, makeup & bath products. This will more than likely be my last big haul before my wedding in 5 months time!

So here is what I purchased:

photo (1)

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer (£10)  – I’ve been wanting to try this concealer for the longest time. It comes with 2 different colour concealers, one for dark circles & one for blemishes AND it comes with its own setting powder in the top. I cannot wait to try this out.

This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less Rollerball (£12) – I’ve seen a lot of bloggers talk about this and I nearly bought it before Christmas. But now that I’m slightly more stressed out at work and not really sleeping properly, I figured it was a good time to try it out.

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask (£22) – I’ve been using the Sanctuary Spa Clay Mask for a while but once that ran out I decided that I wanted to try something different. So when I was recommended this in a #bbloggers chat, I thought I’d give it a go. I will be doing a review on this once I’ve used it.

Origins Super Spot Remover (£14) – This is the tiniest bottle ever! However, you dont need a lot of product at a time. I very rarely suffer from breakouts but when I do, I get those horrible under the skin blemishes that take forever to surface. So I’m hoping that this will help when I do get them.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub (£5.50) – I bought the Santas Lip Scrub at Christmas and I’m pretty much through that pot so I thought I’d buy another one ready for when my lips start drying out.

Lush Brightside Bubble Bar & Lush Comforter Bubble Bar (£4.50 each) – I absolutely love these Bubble Bars. My best friend got me to try the Comforter just over a year ago and I fell in love so that was a definite repurchase. And when I saw its bright orange equivalent, I knew I had to try it. It smells so citrusy and I cannot wait to use these!!

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara (£14) – This was a complete & utter impulse buy. I was at the till, saw it & bought it! I’ll let you guys know what I think about it!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (£22) – I’ve wanted this powder for the longest time ever and today was the say to splurge on this. I’m so excited to try this

AND because I spent over £30 on MAC, I got a £5 voucher to spend between 31st March & 30th April. So I will potentially be buying something else from MAC next payday!

So theres my haul. Keep your eyes peeled for any reviews on the products mentioned above.

March Favourites

Hey Lovelies

Its been a while since I’ve done a favourites post but I’d determined to do one every month!

So here are my March Favourites

I Love…Bubble Bath – I bought 3 of these from Superdrug, you may have seen this in my haul post a few weeks back. I love these so so much, they smell amazing and they foam up so well. Definitely a repurchase.

Sanctuary Spa Thermal Detox Mask – I love these masks. Clay masks are my favourites for drawing out the rubbish that’s under my skin. It’s also a self-heating mask which means it’s lovely and warm when you apply it. I would repurchase this but as you’ve seen in my Pay Day Wish List that I’ve bought the Origins clay mask to try out so I’ll give you guys a comparison post once I’ve tried it!

Charles Worthington Salon At Home Moisture Seal Mask – I’ve only had this for 2 weeks and I’ve fallen in love. It smells absolutely divine  and leaves my hair feeling super soft! There will be a full review of this coming soon

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Body Wash – Definitely my favourite body wash ever! It smells so lovely and its moisturising aswell which means that I don’t need to slather on the body butter when I get out of the shower in the mornings

No7 Soft & Gentle Cleanser – I bought this before Christmas but stopped using it because I bought the cleanser from The Body Shop and I rediscovered this beauty this month. Its so gentle (as the name would suggest) at removing your make-up including your eye makeup without stinging! Bonus!

TV Show – Eastenders. I’m getting so into this again recently, especially with the death storyline coming up at Easter (this makes me sound sinister, but i’m not!)

Music – Well my favourite band (Kids in Glass Houses) are splitting up which makes me sad so I’m listening to them a lot this month along with deciding whether to buy a ticket to their farewell tour. I’ve also rediscovered Muse and I can’t believe I stopped listening to them

Food – Special K Cracker Crisps. They are low in calories and so tasty.

Drink – Dr Pepper Zero. Oh my god, this is amazing. For months I couldn’t find this and now my local Tesco stocks it, I’m buying loads!

What are your favourites this month?

Pay Day Wish List!

Hey Lovelies

So by the time you guys see this post, pay day will have already happened for me & I will have more than likely already bought some, if not all, of these products.

I’ve decided that I want to splurge a little more on my skincare this month to keep the blemishes at bay! So here is my wishlist for pay day!

clay spot M74W01 79-Catastrophe-Cosmetic

Origins Clear Improvement Clay Mask £22.00
Origins Super Spot Remover £14.00
MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural £22.00
Lush Cosmetic Catastrophe £5.95

And there will more than likely be some form of Lush Bath bombs involved! But don’t worry, there will be a haul post soon!

Percy & Reed Wonder Balm | Review

Hey Lovelies,

Now as you may (or may not) know, I love a good freebie! I’ve been known to buy a magazine just for the freebie! So when I saw that Elle were teaming up with Percy & Reed for Aprils magazine, I couldnt resist buying it!

The Percy & Reed Wonder Balm

On a side note, I adore the Percy & Reed packaging, it just looks so cute!

Anyways, back to the product. Here’s what the website says:

This miracle, weightless, leave-in balm preps and primes your hair in readiness for all styling products and techniques.
However you style your hair, Wonder Balm makes your regular styling products work wonders, giving you more control and better results that last longer. Or, the short version, all you need for beautiful, healthy looking and flawless hair. Perfect.

This multi-tasking balm can be used alone or as a foundation for the use of other styling products. Apply a small amount to towel dried hair, working from roots to ends to prep hair for styling. Can also be worked sparingly into dry, styled hair to maximise definition.

It comes out of the tube as a white, slightly sticky liquid (no jokes here please!) Once you rub it between your hands, it turns clear & then you just rub it into your hair. I tend to put mine in before I blow-dry & style my hair. It recommends that you put it in from roots to ends, but my roots are greasy enough without adding the extra products to it! The only time I use this on dry hair is when I’ve curled my hair and it helps to hold & give definition to my curls.

This costs £18 for a 75ml tube so I’m not sure if I’d repurchase when this runs out but I do enjoy using this more than I thought I would!

You can buy Percy & Reed online from their website or ASOS but you can also purchase from Selfridges, Space NK & selected John Lewis store if you want to try before you buy!

Have you tried any Percy & Reed products before?
